Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool is one of Europe’s largest and busiest children’s hospitals. Its teams care for children and young people with conditions ranging from everyday illnesses to complex needs requiring highly specialised treatment.
For our family, its specialist heart care has a very personal meaning. Alder Hey’s Heart Centre provides expert investigations, treatment and surgery for children with heart conditions, carrying out approximately 450 major heart operations every year.
My fundraiser supports Alder Hey Children’s Charity, which raises money to enhance the hospital’s care and facilities, funding equipment, projects and experiences that go beyond what is available through NHS funding.
